To say the girls love the snow would be an understatement! This is Ginger getting her chase on with ZuZu while the snow continues to fall. Only downside is if the snow is a heavy, wet snow the snowballs will gather on their fur, and you can see this happening already on the furry beast Ginger!
Did you know the first Lord Tweedmouth is credited as the founder of the breed with a yellow dog bred from black Wavy Coated Retrievers crossed with the Tweed Water Spaniel. This mating produced four yellow puppies. Later additions to the root stock included the Bloodhound and the Irish Setter and the resultant yellow Retrievers became popular in the Border Counties.
Eventually the breed was recognized by The Kennel Club as a “yellow” or “golden” Retriever in 1913. When the Golden Retriever Club was established in 1920 the official bred name was changed to the Golden Retriever.
The Kennel Club (UK): Retriever (Golden)
It’s a Golden Life!
Trog whirls around the sun with his wife Sweet Magnolia and their golden retrievers in pastoral northern Illinois. When he’s not dodging the tumbleweeds of magic golden fibers, Trog can be found exploring the countryside for nature’s gifts and moments, with an occasional capture here and there with his trusty ol’ Nikon.
Trog’s portfolio of images includes not only Golden Retrievers but also Nature, Wildlife, Landscapes and other genres from time to time. His images provide the content for the various brands of Trog’s World LLC: Scriptures in Pictures®, Trog’s Dogs® and Trogography.
The Geeky Stuff
For those interested in some of the behind-the-scenes info such as camera and settings, I’ve listed some specs below. With the advances in technology we’ve experienced with these picture-taking apparatuses over the last few years, all of the top brands can produce very fine photos. But I’ve been with Nikon for over 20 years now, and it is my go-to for captured moments.
For post-processing, Adobe Bridge, Raw, Photoshop and Lightroom are used to produce the final images.
